WELCOME

TO PRACTICING

NERVOUS SYSTEM CARE

I specialize in somatic practices, including Somatic Therapy and Sensorial Yoga—body-based approaches to well-being.

My focus includes, but is not limited to, chronic stress and trauma processing, life transitions (e.g., post-migration, seasonal affective difficulties), and neurodiversity-affirming support.

I offer one-on-one sessions online worldwide and work with groups and communities as an advocate, activist, and facilitator.

My work goes beyond nervous system regulation. In my own experience, is essential cultivate accuracy on our internal felt sense, building up capacity, tolerance, and embodied self-awareness to preventing getting stuck in cycles of stress, overwhelming emotions and energy depletion.

The key aspects of the process when working with me include exploring a felt sense of inner safety, increasing embodied self-awareness, reconnecting with your natural rhythms, and embracing all parts of yourself.

About Jennifer

20240704_210710_edited_edited_edited_edi

I know from my lived experience with complex trauma, immigration, and chronic illness that we all need an internal sense of safety, genuine support, and commitment to embark on a journey of recovery, change, and healing.

Connecting with our sensations and feelings is not always easy. For a long time, I felt disconnected from my body. It took me years to understand that dissociation was how my nervous system learned to cope and that emotional dysregulation is a manifestation of our body’s physiology responding to unmet psychological and relational needs.

I am a curious lifelong student. In my search for tools for well-being, I discovered yoga and Vipassana meditation, both of which have been part of my life for over 13 years. Working as a therapist and facilitator makes self-knowledge a priority for me. Through trying different therapeutic modalities on myself, I have found that including the body in the process is essential.

The practical ethics of yoga constantly remind me of the unified nature of the immanent and the transcendent. My experience as an occupational therapist gives me a scientific drive and emphasizes practical care in daily living.

Today, I feel honored to help others from the holistic perspective of somatic therapy. You can read more about my expertise, training, and work experience here.
